About Me
Hello I am Faruq, a UX designer.
I started my UX journey in a immersive & intensive course with General Assembly for 3 months.
As someone who lacks a design background, it was slightly difficult for me to grasp into a world of creativity. However, through my past experience as an engineer and a leader, this has help me create solutions to the problems I faced.
I excel in creating solutions that have different perspective to the problem. By doing so, we can discover hidden issues.
Together, by understanding not only our users but our partners as well, we can efficiently create designs while making room for improvements and refinement for a seamless execution.
Past Experiences
Before becoming a UX designer, I was a Assistant Engineer for 1.5 years. Supervising signaling projects of our country’s railway system. During my national service, I am a platoon sergeant in Pulau Tekong and was in charge of up to 250 recruits and 3 section commanders on a daily basis.
I studied Electrical and Computer Engineering for my diploma. I learned programming languages such as C# and C. Even though my degree in Game & Mobile application was uncompleted, I learned Java and HTML throughout my time there.
Hobbies
During my free time I enjoy playing and hosting games. Occasionally I would host an annual game for my family and relatives during our chalet gathering.
Exploring the web for design ideas is also part of my routine to improve and gather inspiration.
I also enjoy watching scientific videos to satiate my curiosity about the world.
